США
Добавлен 25 май 2012
100 Acre Wood Highlands is a small family farm in central Oklahoma that raises Scottish Highland Cattle. Scottish Highland cattle are known for their distinctive long hair and horns and are affectionately referred to by some as fuzzy cows or furry cows. Highlands have many great qualities including their docile nature, longevity, easy of calving and lean beef.
In this channel we will take you along on our journey of raising our cattle, gardening, cooking and homesteading on our ranch.
If you have interest in having your own Highland fold I would love to hear from you!

Beautiful caws and beautiful nature! love from Japan
Thank you!
Fancy caws! Super kawaii!!! Love their hair, horns, and also how they behave. Real creatures popping out from fantasy. Thank you so much for showing this video. cheers from Japan.
Glad you didn’t get hit by the storms.
love the aquatic coos
Mmmmm yummy! I gotta try some
Just a thought - do the Hereford crosses have horns?
What a satisfying way of life. Sadly, I am limited to a small 'urban farm' on my little subdivision lot. But, I love it! I also have an orchard! A miniature orchard of 6 dwarf trees! My trees are only about 3 years on, but I do have a handful of apples on all but two of them. My Keifer pear is in its 3rd year in my yard and last year produced a dozen full size pears which I just love! I have a couple of mulberry trees in my yard...to 'harvest' those, I place fine netting on the ground and collect the berries that fall. They are pretty fragile and picking them will leave you with purple stained fingers! I really enjoy your videos.
🇦🇺You could espalier the blackberries or other fruit trees that way they don’t put so much energy into shoots and leaves and more energy into the fruit. You have 3 wire running end to end and train 3 main shoots off each side of the plant. The fruit hang for easy picking.
Funny I came across your video cause we’re considering getting highlands and I’m also a financial advisor

Always look forward hearing from you you! Great, informative video , You are truly Blessed by God🙏❤️
Spring is the best time of year! Great to see everything growing!
So good to see you. Hope all is well with you and your family. Take care ❤
Could your smaller blackberry be a wild black raspberry.
Thank goodness you all did not have any storm damage. Love your raised beds. This is the kind that I have and so convenient. Yes, you need a lot of soil. I put straw litter and chicken poop in the bottom of mind then good soil. That is what I have and love them. Next year your strawberries will be great. All the best to you all. Have any chickens? Start you an asparagus bed. Love mine. lol those girls in coming in hot!! lol lol Your herd looks so good. He is beautiful. goodness won't let the babies join in! lol She sure is pretty calf... yes she is very pretty. Such fun to have apples on Lucy's tree!!! Very nice fruit orchard!!! The mulch will be so useful for you. Perfect! Really!!! A Mulberry tree? I had on that I planted and it was killed by lawn chemicals. Do not use them anymore. So excited to you. All the best!!!
Enjoyed the tour. Everything is beautiful. Thanks for sharing 🙂🙏
Thank you for sharing this priceless baby 🫶

Orchards and gardens look great. Love the cows.... Highlands. Thanks for sharing your life 🫶 Blessings to 100 Acre Highlands. 🙏🫶🙏🫶
I really enjoy your videos Rhett, your knowledgeable and articulate. Just such a pleasure to listen to.😊
So wonderful you escaped the storms!
I have missed your posts
I think it is so wrong how the state can come in and destroy a farm. No mater what. Your MoM is special. ❤❤ Any more calfs yet?
Is it better cross breed salers and highland cattle ?
You are amazingly calm considering losing such valuable possessions to coyotes. If it were me I'd be setting up a stand and monitoring the calves as much as possible. Hope the problem is alleviated soon
I love Highlands and Chad’s June Bug is my favorite cow over there and he said we should check you out so here I am
How tall inside
We do this in the Uk too. I picked a bunch and brought the jam to my mother. 🇬🇧
Such a sweet thing that’s happening here. The man and this highland cow have such a connection. It was also so lovely to have the little girl (who I assume is his daughter) present. It obviously was a wonderful experience for her. I’ve never seen a highland cow giving birth so I don’t understand a few things. What was the name of the monitor that predicted labor (Mo ?). Where was the monitor placed? Why was the chain used? Wouldn’t pulling be just as effective?
Thank you I have small farm
They really are the best cattle on earth with the exception of their slower Grow everything else is a plus
They're so adorable 😍
Is it better than my scottish beef? Our highland beef? Or angus beef?
Thanks for the education
We raised them in a meat is fantastic. That was the reason that originally brought me to the breed is I tried Highland beef, and after that I fell in love.
Love your Highlands, they are beautiful!
If U Need some Aerial footages let Me Know !!!
Congratulations to the neu baby hiland 🐮cow enjoying his new life i am so happy for her 🎉😊😊🎉🎉🎉 congratulations
The girls are getting so big! The electric company just did that around our rural area. They turned it into a muddy mess! So many trees taken down 😢
Your Momma is a wonderful person and she instilled that in you too. Sucks that YOU own property and they can come on YOUR property and do as the please..smh. love to you all ❤
Nice to see spring is starting for you Rhett, maybe try some Paw Paw or currents under the easement once they are done. You can also graft different varieties of apples or pears onto one tree so it's self-fruitful, just have to find some that bloom at the same time. I've only got space for one large apple tree or a few smaller ones, so I went with a standard root stock (for shade) and graft on new varieties every year.
Your mom is amazing
Rhett, do you have any other animals besides cattle?
🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸☕️☕️☕️🍻🍻🍻👀👀👀👍👍👍🥃🥃🥃🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
So sorry for the easement. Moms are the best. All the best to you and your family. Blessings upon you all.
I wish Chad would get a Highland from you ❤
He did!
❤❤❤
God Bless your Mom
Yes, your mother is a great example of how we all should be. She is a lady totally and you are much like her I'm sure. Can you graze your animals on this once they are finished? Yes you are blessed and it is nice to share your memories with your children. I enjoy seeing your herd resting. She is pretty and it is nice how you can pet some of them. Have you tried the Redmonds Garlic Minerals? That is supposed to be good. Hallie is so pretty. lol she does not know what to think. lol Lillie is a beautiful color. So nice to see you again and this was nice walking around with the Highlands. Love hearing her munching the grass. lol All the best!
